# Example queries

> What to actually ask once the Affixo MCP connector is loaded.

Once the connector is [set up](/mcp-server), you talk to your program in plain
language. These are real prompts mapped to the tools behind them, so you can see
what a request will touch before you send it.

<Note>
Anything under **Configure** is a write. Your client asks you to approve each
one before it runs, and read-only connectors can't call them at all.
</Note>

## Check how the program is doing

> "How is my Affixo program doing this month?"

Calls `affixo_report_overview` for the workspace KPIs, usually followed by
`affixo_top_affiliates` to break it down per affiliate.

> "Which of my campaigns is actually converting?"

`affixo_list_campaigns`, then `affixo_campaign_performance` per campaign —
conversions, revenue and commission totals side by side.

> "Who are my top 10 affiliates by revenue this quarter?"

`affixo_top_affiliates` with a date range.

## Chase the money

> "What commissions are pending, and what do they add up to?"

`affixo_pending_commissions` returns the list plus the workspace total.

> "Show me the payouts from last month."

`affixo_list_payouts` — amount, status and batch. Inspect only: **no tool can
move money**, so your assistant can tell you what's owed but never pays it.

> "Why did this commission come out at \$12.40?"

`affixo_get_commission` for the record, then `affixo_get_commission_rule` on its
campaign to show which rule matched — the per-product rate, the per-cadence
rate, or the campaign default.

## Find and manage affiliates

> "Find the affiliate with the email [jane@example.com](mailto:jane@example.com)."

`affixo_find_promoters` searches by name, email or status; `affixo_get_affiliate`
fetches one by id.

> "Approve Jane and invite [marco@example.com](mailto:marco@example.com) to the program."

`affixo_update_affiliate` to set the status, `affixo_invite_affiliate` to send
the invite. Both are writes — expect an approval prompt for each.

> "Anything suspicious in my program right now?"

`affixo_flagged_affiliates` returns the AI risk assessments used for fraud
triage.

## Configure commissions

> "In my Summer campaign, pay a flat $195 for the GA product, a flat $300 for
> VIP, and 10% on everything else."

`affixo_set_commission_rule` once per rate — twice scoped with `product_ids`,
once unscoped as the campaign default. Products come from
`affixo_list_products`. See [per-product commissions](/mcp-server#per-product-commissions)
for how precedence resolves.

> "Pay 20% on annual plans and 10% on monthly."

The same tool with `billing_interval` instead of `product_ids`.

> "Give 100 credits for the Starter product instead of cash."

`affixo_set_commission_rule` with `reward_type="non_cash"` and a `unit`. This
records a fulfilment for you to apply on your own system — Affixo never applies
the credit itself.

> "Stop paying commission on the Enterprise product."

`affixo_set_product_commission` turns that product's commissions off, or
redirects it to a different campaign.

## Set up tracking

> "Create a referral link for Jane pointing at my pricing page."

`affixo_create_link`. List what already exists with `affixo_list_links`.

> "Send conversion events to my endpoint at [https://example.com/hooks/affixo](https://example.com/hooks/affixo)."

`affixo_create_webhook`; `affixo_list_webhooks` shows what's already registered.

## Ask for raw data

> "List my campaigns as JSON."

Every tool takes `responseFormat`. The default, `markdown`, is a table your
assistant can read and summarise cheaply; `json` returns the exact structure and
types, which is what you want when you're copying a value out or checking a
nested field. See [result format](/mcp-server#result-format).

## What it can't do

Asking won't help — these are deliberately absent from the tool surface:

* **Paying anyone.** No payout, batch or transfer tool exists. Your assistant can
read payouts and tell you what's pending; you pay from the dashboard.
* **Deleting affiliates or commissions.** Destructive record operations stay in
  the app, behind a human.
* **Touching another workspace.** The token is scoped to the workspace you chose
at sign-in, so a second program needs a second connection.
